About
[14.5 clock hours] Texts/Resources Required: all learning content provided within course. Categories: Instructional Design, Online Education, Differentiated Instruction, Motivation, Assessment, Mastery-Based Learning This course is intended for educators who need to create online or blended lessons - or an entire class - and who have minimal to no experience designing for mastery-based online learning. The course is intended for a variety of educators: college instructors, homeschooling parents, community educators, and more. Note: for certified teachers, some concepts could be review, although possibly applied in a new way; they are encouraged to still work through each section carefully because they are often surprised by the reframing of what they expect to be familiar concepts. While most of the lessons here focus on course design, some guidance is also provided for the design of the home-based work and learning environment. This includes important information and strategies for successfully teaching online and making the most of your time. You are also offered some strategies to share with parents of younger students to help optimize the home-based learning environment for those students. If you are working from home and also have children at home, some of these strategies will help you as well. To complete this course, you must do the following: 1. Read/view each section. 2. Complete each quiz at 80% or higher. Instead of one long exam, this course has 9 quizzes, one at the end of each section. 3. Complete the End of Course Survey. Books/Resources: All resources are provided for you. While there are book recommendations to extend your learning, none of these are necessary for completing this class.
