All content provided within course CATEGORIES: Psychology, Neurodiversity, Differentiated Needs, Personal Development, Organization & Time Management, Motivation COURSE COMPLETION REQUIREMENTS: 1) Read/view each lesson 2) Complete 4 online quizzes (open note), at 80% or higher. Multiple attempts allowed. 3) Complete end-of-course Survey. DESCRIPTION/GOALS: 1. Gain a better understanding of ADHD through a neurodiversity-affirming lens. 2. Understand how ADHD impacts motivation, including the intersection with consequences; habits and rewards; and hyperfocusing and perseveration. 3. Learn ADHD-friendly strategies for organization and time management. 4. Gather strategies that can be applied in everyday life, including being successful with education and career goals. 5. Ultimate Goal: Begin to counter the shame often associated with ADHD traits through deeper understanding and the development of strategies that are more likely to work. Teachers completing this course are encouraged to use what they learn to better understand their students with ADHD, help their students develop strategies that actually work for their neurotype, and to integrate the organizational strategies into their own classroom set-up and lesson design. Optimizing everything for the ADHD student can potentially benefit students who do not have ADHD.
